Hart's Violins was established in Barton-on-Sea over twenty years' ago by the Vienna-trained Violinist and Restorer, Frederic Hart and we endeavour to continue in this tradition today, welcoming all String-related enquiries.

Our tiny Garden-Workshop houses carefully-selected Violins, Cellos and Bows. We offer instruments from the 18th-Century to examples by some of the best of today's Makers, who we actively encourage.

We offer a repair-service, together with Appraisals and Valuations and a spacious, airy, Trying-Room, with Piano, of course, to assist clients in the choice of their latest instrument.

Hart's Violins has built up a core-base of clients, both locally and overseas and we are proud to be numbered amongst the suppliers to H.M. String Orchestras - in particular, the Royal Artillery and the Army Air Corps.

Amongst our ever-changing stock of Violins are examples from 19th-century France and Germany. All are in perfect playing condition, of course, set-up with either Dominant or Corelli Alliance strings. Many of our instruments have found homes overseas, being purchased by players in France, Austria and Australia. All are competitively priced; in most cases, far below those to be found in many shops and other estasblishments.

Also we are keen to buy old, unwanted and unplayed instruments. Please look through your attics, lofts etc., Bringing such fiddles back to life is painstaking work but if it is possible we will try and save them for generations to come. We offer good prices for such instruments and will give you our opinion of them free of cost.

With the youngsters in mind, we stock entry-level 'Cremona' violin outfits from 1/4 to 4/4 size for only £65 per outfit...... so we feel that players of many standards can be accommodated.

Also in stock are hand chosen, well-balanced Violin Bows, ranging from beginners' Bows, (with Real Hair), at £30 to Silver-mounted Pernambuco examples by Swiss maker, Neuville, together with Knoll, Gotz etc., Also for sale are, Cases, both shaped and oblong, strings, rosins, cleaners , Kun shoulder-rests, chin-rests and all accessories for the violinist. We really do aim to meet your requirements and if we do not have in stock exactly what you require, will do our utmost to obtain same at the very earliest. Try us and see.
